Iā€™m Katy, an established UK based photographer and videographer, but currently working full time as Creative Lead at Big Purple Capture, part of the Big Purple Group, based in the North East.

Previously, I was a video editor at Team17. This role allowed me to further my video editing knowledge, while working on many trailers for games signed and produced by the company. It also allowed me to travel to various events such as TwitchCon Amsterdam and San Diego, to capture the Team17 stand, showcasing to the streaming community.

For many years prior, I was working in esports and gaming events. My love for esports began when I volunteered for my first event, Insomnia 57 in the UK in 2016. After experiencing the passion and dedication, and being a gamer myself with photography already a big part of my life, it clicked together. I actively searched for opportunities in which I could expand my portfolio, in the hopes to turn a dream into a career. Many years on, I have travelled to many different countries, places I never thought I would see, working different events and meeting amazing people.

I am proud to say I have had the opportunity to work with some of the best companies in the industry such as ESL, Riot Games, Ubisoft, EGL, ESPAT, BELONG, epic.LAN, Right Formula and many others. I have enjoyed capturing moments not just for events, but for the players and the fans, and especially to show how the world of esports has continued to strive over the years, through my own eyes.

I have been nominated for multiple awards throughout the years, including being a finalist in the Esports Awards for Photographer of the year 2020.
